Since starting Kastor & Pollux in 2011, it's been a challenge for me to understand the separation between "personal time" and "work time". A couple of years ago, I reached a breaking point and knew I had to make a change. I started by taking the email notifications off my phone, and I've slowly begun to take more "personal days" -- starting with my weekends, and now, I take most nights off. It's been an uphill battle implementing boundaries and respecting what my body is asking for, but I feel like I'm at a point in my life where I need to accept the fact that I can't do it all, all the time.
This illustration series is a commentary about our generation's need to constantly be available, and our tendency to romanticize being "busy".
